Blue Canvas

Hello Everyone

It's time for a new challenge over at The Artistic Stamper. This months theme is All Things Bright and Beautiful. You can join in on The Artistic Stamper blog and also over on the Facebook challenge  page. I look forward to see all your entries, and hope you are inspired by mine and my team mates creations.

I covered a 12x12 inch canvas with gesso, while the gesso was still wet, I applied a mixture of Phthalo Turquoise, Process Cyan and Coeruleun Blue acrylics, blending them in together.

After allowing that layer to completely dry I applied some blue acrylic paint through the honeycomb mask with a sponge.Stamping over the top with Phthalo Turquoise and the honeycomb background stamp. When I did this I worked from the middle to the edges, leaving the top right and bottom left corners plain.

I ripped strips from three different rolls of  washi tape, and glued them in a repeating pattern across the centre of the canvas from top left to bottom right. I then used a darker shade of blue acrylic and a small pot to add the circles over the top.

I stamped out nine of the same butterfly's from the butterflies 2 plate, and sprayed Lemon Zest and Squeezed Orange Dylusions sprays over the top.  Once dry I cut them out, and added a bit more colour to them using Spectrum Aqua pens.

Once I had glued them in place, I went around the edges of the butterfly's with a black pen, and finished the canvas off my splattering some white acrylic paint over the top.

Thank you for reading I look forward to seeing everyone's entries.
Gemma
